Suzhou: The Eastern Venice with Ancient Gardens and Cultural Richness

Suzhou, a lively city of over two million people located about one hundred kilometers from Shangh near Thu Lake in Jiangsu Province. Often referred to as the Venice of the East, it's due to its many waterways since nearly half of Suzhou 42 is covered by water bodies. This historic and culturally rich city, considered the cradle of Wu civilization, is renowned for its beauty and educational achievements.

Suzhou is famous not only for being a hub that draws intellectuals but also for its silk industry. However, it's most celebrated for its traditional gardens which date back to Ming and Qing Dynasties.   2. Liu Yuan Garden - This well-liked garden becomes increasingly crowded after 10 am; hence, it's advisable to visit before that time. The entry fee varies between 45 and 55 yuan deping on the season.

  3. Master of the Nets Garden - Entrance costs around 40 yuan per person.

  4. The Circular Splor Mountn Villa - This garden offers a relatively inexpensive admission at only 15 yuan for each visitor.

  5. Canglang Ting Pavilion - The cost to enter here ranges between 15 and 20 yuan deping on the time of year.

  6. Lion Forest Garden - The entrance is set around 20 yuan per person.

  7. Yipu Garden - Access costs are minimal, at approximately 10 yuan.

  8. Ou Yuan The Lotus Pond Garden - The entry fee here stands at about 20 yuan.

  9. Tuisi Yuan Retreat and Reflection in Tongli - Entry is quite inexpensive at around the same level.

Suzhou also boasts temples and hills such as Huqiu Tiger Hill, which holds 18 scenic spots.

Visitors enjoy meandering through narrow streets, crossing numerous bridges, and exploring the harmonious gardens that define this charming city with stunning landscapes. A popular Chinese saying encapsulates Suzhou's beauty: In heaven there is a paradise, on Earth there are Suzhou and Hangzhou.
